The John Deere Party

It finally came!  The John Deere Party.  We have been talking and planning for this party since Christmas.  The kids thought it would never come.  And it had to be a bit confusing as Ana's birthday came and went with no party.  But finally all the plans and promises came true.

We decided to have a combined party for Ana's 5th and Lukas' 4th birthdays.  They have many of the same friends and it seemed like a great idea for their ages.  The theme turned out to be John Deere tractor and farm, largely because Walmart had these party items on clearance.  However, tractors and farms have been a constant point of interest for both Ana and Lukas for the past two years.  Our other inspiration was "Farm Country Ahead." It's a great informational video for kids and parents about all things "farm" and has been rented from our library more times than we can count.  After we got our theme, things started to fall in place.  Thank you to everyone who helped with ideas and items for the party!  Here are some pictures:

Every child had a chance to take a whack at the tractor piñata.  But it took an older child to finally break it.

These are Ana and Lukas' friends from school and play dates. We are so glad so many could come!

The food and gifts.
This was the best picture I had.  For food, we ordered pizzas and had fruit and munchies.  On the gift table were family gifts and party favors.  The party favors in the dump truck are crayon roll ups.  Thanks to snow days, I was able to make 14 crayon roll ups with cow print and bandana print fabric.

Both grandparents were able to come from Michigan to enjoy the special day with us.
