Big Day!

Today WAS a BIG day! We are now living with a real two year old! Ana is officially two and loves to tell you so! She had her birthday complete with cupcakes, candles and gifts. She seemed to really enjoy being the center of attention all day. There were calls from family memebers and a play date at the mall with Chick-Fil-A for lunch of course! But that was a few days ago. So what makes today so big? Well, for starters, our little guy decided he could stand up in his crib! I was quite surprised to be looking him in the eye when I went in to see why he wasn't taking his afternoon nap. He was extremely proud of himself and enjoyed the photo session that followed :) He also discovered that he has an opinion about food and drink and has exersized it to the fullest extent today. No, he would not like ravioli, but yes, he would take the vegetables... go figure! No, he did not want milk, but yes, he would take the juice. And this trend continued at dinner time. It has kept me praying all day that God would spare me from having two picky eaters. Picky eater number one, was no exception today, however, she has been making remarkable progress. In fact she seems to be getting pudgy, if that were possible for this tall two year old. It could be all the cupcakes... She is talking a lot these days. It is fun to see what combination of words she puts together. But today her big moment was going on her potty for the first time! We celebrated! She was so proud. Hopefully this is the start to the long potty training process. We ended the day with big moment for Lukas. I wanted to see if he could take a step or half of one. I stood him a foot from the bed and let him go. He took half a step and caught himself on the bed. He was so excited! He laughed and wanted to do it over and over. Then he went from me to Randy. Now before we all get too excited, I wouldn't quite call this his first steps yet, but we are close! And most importantly, he loved it and wanted to keep trying!
